The Team
Jamie Perry, PhD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Perry’s research uses magnetic resonance imaging and 3D computer technology to study the anatomy, speech, and surgical approaches used to treat cleft palate. Her research is funded through the National Institute of Health. Her current work is aimed to examine the effect of gender and race on craniometric morphology and how it relates to cleft palate surgery. She serves on cleft palate craniofacial teams in NC and IL and provides service through surgical mission trips to third world countries.
Dr. Perry’s Bio & Contact Information
Samantha Power, MS
Samantha Power is a fifth year PhD student in the lab. Her research focuses on using MRI technology to study the anatomical variations of individuals with a history of cleft palate.
Samantha’s Bio & Contact Information
Imani Gilbert, MS, CCC-SLP
Imani Gilbert is a fourth year PhD student in the lab. Her current research interests are related to anatomical and physiological correlates of speech production, specifically in the cleft palate population. Imani is also interested in advancing the scholarship of teaching and learning in CSD and investigating how minority students can be best supported within the field.
Taylor Snodgrass, PhD (ABD), CCC-SLP
Taylor Snodgrass is a fourth year PhD student in the lab. Her research interests include anatomical and physiological variations of the velopharyngeal mechanism, speech outcomes in children who present with speech sound disorders secondary to cleft palate, and surgical outcomes related to craniofacial anomalies.
