Dr. Perry is a licensed speech language pathologist and speech scientist. She is the Department Chair and a Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at East Carolina University. She is also the director of the Speech Imaging and Visualization Laboratory. Her current research aims to examine the how variations in presurgical anatomy effect postsurgical speech outcomes in children born with cleft palate. Her work is currently funded through the National Institute of Health. Dr. Perry also serves on the cleft palate craniofacial teams at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC and East Carolina University, Greenville,
