Congratulations Dr. Burch! Dr. Ashley Burch, assistant professor in HSIM, with collaborators Dr. Linda Bolin (CON), Dr. Paul Bolin and Dr. Paul Shackelford (BSOM), received funding from The Preparedness and Treatment Equity Coalition (PTEC) to host a series of focus groups to identify the key barriers preventing these individuals from receiving a diagnosis of hypertension and initiating medical management. They hope to identify the most frequently reported barriers preventing engagement with the healthcare system and characterize the solutions that are most likely to have the highest impact on engagement to develop culturally tailored interventions to be implemented and validated in future pilot studies.
