CAHS Pilot Grant

College of Allied Health Sciences Pilot Research Funding Program

Purpose and Description

The purpose of this grant mechanism is to support and promote ECU CAHS faculty investigators in initiating and building a program of research to be competitive for extramural research funding.  A maximum of $15,000 will be allocated from the CAHS Research Funds each year for these awards, as funds are available. Each applicant may request up to $5,000 in funds.

Who May Submit a Proposal?

  • Any full-time tenure track, tenured, or fixed-term faculty in the College of Allied Health Sciences may serve as PI on the award. In order to be eligible, the applicant must meet all three criteria below:
    • Faculty without a current start-up.
    • Faculty who have not received internal grant support (from ECU or CAHS) in the last two years.
    • Faculty (as PI or co-I) who do not currently have external funding or faculty (as PI or co-I) who have external funding with direct costs less than $10,000.

Submission Deadline

  • Applications are due January 15, 2023 by 5:00pm EST.
  • Funding period would begin April 1, 2023.
