Congratulations Dr. Matthew McClanahan!
Dr. McClanahan, Department of Addictions & Rehabilitation Studies, successfully defended his dissertation “Examining the Influence of Internalizing and Externalizing Maladjustment on Holland-Based Vocational Interest Score Differentiation and Profile Elevation Among African American Mothers Receiving Welfare” under the direction of Dr. Stephen Leierer.
Dr. McClanahan’s research primarily focused on vocational evaluation results of African American mothers receiving welfare. More specifically, he examined the influence of psychological maladjustment on secondary constructs within the field of vocational interest assessment, including differentiation and profile elevation.
Dr. McClanahan has accepted a position as a vocational expert in the field of forensic rehabilitation. In this role, Dr. McClanahan will serve as an expert witness in workers’ compensation and personal injury claims, evaluating individuals with disabilities in terms of vocational prognosis and diminution of wage earning capacity. He also intends to continue working as an adjunct faculty member.
