New Funding awarded to HSIM Faculty

Congratulations to Dr. Xiaoming Zeng, Chair and Professor in Health Services & Information Management!

Dr. Zeng serves as PI on a newly funded grant awarded from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust for their project “Beaufort County Data 360: Data Driven Community Decision Making for Substance Misuse.”

The project is a three year-long venture to provide “Beaufort County “technical assistance to map behavioral health assets and services, identify gaps, create action plans, and/or prioritize strategies for reducing substance misuse rates.” Our focus is to build an information resource to support community data sharing, decision making and outcome assessment. The deliverables of the project is an information infrastructure to support data sharing, data aggregation, and data visualization that can be used for decision making and create a strategic action plan to systematically address the substance misuses in the community.
