Congratulations to Dr. Perry & Imani Gilbert!

Dr. Jamie Perry, Professor and Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, has been awarded a NIH Diversity Supplement to support the research and academic progress of her PhD student, Imani Gilbert. Ms. Gilbert’s research training will focus on using dynamic MRI to offer insight into the acoustic and physiologic features that are related to velopharyngeal dysfunction.

Additionally, Ms. Gilbert will be invited to participate in the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) sponsored poster session at the annual American Association for Dental Research national meeting.
