Dr. Szatmari and ECU Faculty Research Proteins That Form Abnormal Clusters During Disease and Trauma
Dr. Erzsebet Szatmari, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, is working in conjunction with students and faculty in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences and Brody School of Medicine to conduct cross-disciplinary collaborative research that may have future therapeutic implications for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease, stroke and heart attacks.
Currently, the team’s research is undergoing peer review for publication. They hope to continue working on the project, and next year, they will submit a grant application to the National Institutes of Health for funding of the project.
