CAHS Welcomes Dr. Noel Ysasi!

CAHS would like to welcome Dr. Noel A. Ysasi. Dr. Ysasi joins the college as an assistant professor in the Department of Addictions and Rehabilitation Studies. He also serves as the Program Coordinator for the Certificate in Military and Trauma Counseling. Receiving his master’s and PhD in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Dr. Ysasi has over 12 years of experience in teaching and research.

Dr. Ysasi’s current research interests include the veteran and military culture, psychosocial adjustment to disability, perceptions of people with disabilities, and forensic rehabilitation. His research has afforded him the opportunity to publish 26 book chapters and journal articles and in 2018, he co-edited his first book titled Disability and Vocational Rehabilitation in Rural Settings: Challenges to Service Delivery. He is also the recipient of the 2018 National Council on Rehabilitation Education Researcher of the Year Award.
