Congratulations Dr. Patrick Briley!

Congratulations Dr. Patrick Briley for successfully defending his dissertation, “Relative Contribution of the Stuttering Impact Scores of OASES”.

His dissertation identified key contributors to the overall impact of stuttering on the individual.

Dr. Briley’s research thus far has contributed to a greater understanding of how the condition of stuttering impairs the well-being of those who stutter. He has found that pretreatment differences exist and contribute to the overall impact of the disorder, with those contributors differing as a function of age.

His goal for his programmatic line of research is to identify factors that modulate the impact of stuttering on the individual. Dr. Briley hopes to advance his research program while also maintaining a clinic presence. He envisions a continued synergistic relationship between research and clinical practice that will ultimately affect the most change in the lives of people who stutter.
